2012年40歳の夏、等雲伝統木彫技術協会の植草等雲先生に師事。
私の木彫人生が始まって3年半。本業のWEBデザインの傍ら、
木彫を学んでいる修行中の身でございます。

ちょっとだけ生い立ちを。
10代はバスケットボール一筋、20代社会人スタート直後に、バスケットボール実業団が廃部になり、その後何をすればよいのか、何を目標にしてよいかを見出せず、かなりの間無気力状態に陥りました。
20代終わりのころ、友人の紹介でサルサショーダンスにはまり、それから10年余りは、ダンスに明け暮れました。そこで私は、内から湧き出てくるエネルギーを感じ、それを表現する喜びを実感しました。そして、観に来てくださる方の笑顔によって、実は私が幸せにさせていただいているのだ、ということに気付きます。
楽しい30代でしたが、仕事そっちのけでダンスばかりしていた為、このままでは駄目になってしまう・・・。そろそろ「華」も無くなってきた30代の終わり、大好きだったダンスチームを辞めるにいたります。
40代にして、またしてもぽっかり穴が開いたような状態。しかし友人のアドバイスもあり、この時期はとことん自分と向き合う時間をつくりました。外に向いてた様々な欲をそこに置いて。
そんなある日、気付いたらアフリカのお面に夢中な私がいたのです。
20代終わりから、現在も本業はWEBデザイン。今はこれで生計を立てることに変わりはありません。しかし、40歳になって出会った木彫。私はこれを生涯プロジェクトとして、将来は本業にしていくと決めました。
