2016年の干支は「申」ですが、それにちなんで、なにかブブクワで彫って欲しいと先月依頼をいただきました。特に干支的なこと以外は私にお任せでしたので、どうしようかなぁと考えていました。そうしたら、その日の夜、湯船につかっていた時に「ビビビー！これだー！ビガビガー！」とイメージがおりてきたので翌日彫り始め、日程が心配でしたがなんとか年内に間に合いました。3つのブブクワ完成です。

今回、どんなイメージがおりてきたかというと、三猿と逆のことをやってみたらいいんじゃないか！？ということでした。来年の干支の話題が出始た頃、改めて三猿を見たら、目も口も耳もどこも塞いでシャットアウトしている感じに違和感がありました。見ること、言うこと、聞くこと。どれも自由なのに、その自由に自ら蓋をしたら、なんかとってもつまんなくない？世の中いろんな素晴らしいこと大事なことが起こっているのに、塞いじゃったら何にも感じれないよー。って思ってしまいました。
